Tyler Jason at 4 Months (almost!)

Yes...on Dec 25th my babies will be 4 months old already! Can you believe it? I do look at them sometimes and realize that I really never thought they'd be as big as they are now...and he is still so tiny! But small in size or not...TJ is such a big boy in development! Both babies should really just be acting like 7 week olds right now and although they are not acting like 4 month olds...they are certainly ahead of the game.

TJ has a very demanding personality. When he is hungry, tired, uncomfortable, or has a dirty diaper, he definitely lets us know! He will "yell" at us to change him or help him...not really cry, but actually yell. It's quite funny, although it can stress you out if you can't figure out what he's yelling about. Especially since it will generally develop into a meltdown if you don't tend to his needs. Sometimes the anticipation of the meltdown is the toughest part. I also don't think he likes it very much when Mommy stands over him laughing and saying "You're so cute! Look at this little boy making all this noise" when he is trying to get accomplish something!

TJ loves his playmat, he will lie there for so long just looking at his toys and lights. His little legs and arms will pump like crazy while he lays there, just to show you how excited he is! He even yells at us when his music times out! Here he is on the mat, happy as usual. He smiles so much now!

He also loves to be still...unlike so many babies. He likes to sleep in his crib, on his boppy pillow, or on the floor. He does not like things like the carseat/riding in the car (although he is getting better at that), going for walks in the stroller, or the swing. He loves to lie on the floor next to his sister, and smiles like crazy when he is happy. Much to my mom's dismay, Tyler is also a very "hot" baby. (Grandma has a tendency to always think the "poor babies are so cold," although I'm learning that ALL grandmas are like that!) He prefers cotton onesies to fleece...his little hands and feet are even sweaty sometimes! Sometimes during his meltdowns I'll think he has a dirty diaper but when I open his onesie to change it, he quiets down as soon as his clothes are open! And speaking of clothes...he has finally graduated to 3 Month size clothes, and is still in size 1 diapers. I guess it's because he eats so good...he currently takes 5 oz in about 5 or 6 bottles per day. He has also recently found his "hand" and is trying desperately to suck his thumb. Check him out!

One of the biggest developments we have for our babies is that they both have their own rooms now! It started because Tyler would wake up at the 4 hour mark in the middle of the night, followed by Kayla shortly after. While Tyler was taking his full bottle though, Kayla was only taking an ounce or 2, and then falling back to sleep. So, Mommy realized that she was starting to "snack" and wondered if she even needed that bottle. Well...she didn't. Turns out that her little brother was waking her up every 4 hours in the middle of the night! We tried for a while to put her back to sleep while we got up with TJ, but it proved to be a frustrating task. Finally, one night I had enough and dragged his crib into another bedroom first thing in the morning. Ha ha...I thought I had it all figured out. Now he would not be able to wake his sister up anymore! Well...it not only worked out for Kayla, but it seemed to work for him too, because within a few days Tyler started sleeping through the night too! Now he goes down to sleep at around 10pm, and gets up around 5 or 6 for a bottle. He then goes back down until about 8 or 8:30am when he gets up for the day. So...our big boy is getting bigger and bigger by the minute...now on to his sister!
