First Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Kayla & TJ enjoyed a quiet thanksgiving at Grandma & Grandpa's house this year with Grandma & Grandpa, Mom & Dad, and Aunt Kris. They had lots of fun! This weekend was actually a notable one as well. First, it was their first overnight trip. They adapted nicely and slept soundly. It was also a very alert weekend for both babies. We got to see them awake and alert quite a bit, and got so many smiles from both of them all weekend! The smiles are starting to come more frequently now, which is such a nice change from the past few months.

Here are the twins in their Thanksgiving best! This was also their 3 month old photo shoot!

Here is Grandpa trying to entertain Kayla while getting her picture taken. Look at how she looks at him so intently with a smile on her face!

On Friday, we took Kayla & TJ to Brooklyn to meet their Great Grandparents, Nanny & Poppy. Nanny & Poppy were so excited to meet the babies, and we even got to take a few pictures and videos while we were there.

Here's the whole family:

Here's Nanny holding both of her great-grandchildren:

And of course...the 4 generation picture. Poppy, Grandpa, Mommy & the Twins!

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. This year, we have so much to be thankful for. Smitty and I are thankful that God blessed us with a successful (although difficult) pregnancy, and the strength to get through it together. We are thankful that God blessed us with not just one but 2 beautiful babies. We are thankful that both babies are here and SO healthy after a tough start. We are also so thankful to have our friends and family that offer so much help to us (especially Grandma for spending 2-4 days a week here with us!) More than anything...I am thankful to have such a wonderful husband who supported me so much through this past year. I am so lucky that he helped me so much throughout the pregnancy, visited me every day in the hospital (even though it was an hour away) all while managing our move into the new house, and the renovations we were undergoing. And if all that wasn't enough, he has been up for every middle of the night feeding, changes diapers, makes bottles, and does just about anything he can to spend time with his babies. I have been a very, VERY lucky woman this year...and I haven't taken any of it for granted.

Happy Thanksgiving!
