Bad News for Kelly

30 Weeks 1 Day: At today’s OB appointment Kelly’s blood pressure was elevated, she had high levels of protein in her urine, and her swelling concerned the doctors so they decided to send her to St. Peter’s University Hospital for some tests and monitoring. Once she got there, they hooked her up to an IV and got her hydrated.

Concerned that she might have preeclampsia – or pregnancy induced hypertension – the doctors called for a 24-hour urine test, but that it wouldn’t start until tomorrow morning. So, for now Kelly will be in the hospital until at least Sunday. We’re hoping that after some tests she’ll be released back to her Mom & Dad’s house. She started in a regular Labor & Delivery room, but eventually moved into a high-risk perinatal room.
