I'm Back!!!

I'm back! After weeks of no internet access, my wonderful husband has done a great job with keeping you all well informed of our progress. It was tough to be confined to a hospital bed for so long...but being home without my babies in my belly or in my arms has proven to be a MUCH more difficult mountain to climb than any hospital stay.

First, please let me say a HUGE thank you to those of you that sent me such well wishes while in the hospital. Your flowers, cards, magazines, books, texts, phone calls, and visits made time pass so much quicker! I enjoyed my "regular visitors" so much! My husband, Mom & Dad, Mother in Law, Emily, and the Wormeck Family (including my Goddaughter Penny!) came to visit often...and take me outside to breathe some fresh air! A special thanks to you guys!

Kayla Jessica & Tyler Jason (or "TJ" as you've all heard already) are doing great. Little history on their names...Tyler has had his first name for quite a while. Random choice of boy name...Smit & I both loved it. Kayla was a game-day decision for us...we were undecided and bouncing between 2 names forever. We didn't officially decide until she came out of Mommy's belly. Smit ran over to see her while they cleaned her up, and ran back to me with a big smile & tears in his eyes and said "It's Kayla....she's Kayla!" and it was decided. Their middle names were chosen as a nod to our best friends and the Godparents of the Twins, Jessica & Jason.

Smit gave a good update on the babies progress...but he missed one important fact! Our little TJ has been off of his CPAP (those tubes in his nose that gave him extra oxygen) since Friday, August 29th. They tried him out on his own...and he hasn't had one episode yet! His lungs are stronger than expected, and he seems eager to prove to everyone that he can be a big boy...just like his sister is always proving to be a big girl by ripping her feeding tube out so she can eat from a bottle! Ahhhh...Mommy's babies!

I'll get some more pictures posted once I get home and have better access to them all. Thanks again for all of your phone calls, gifts, and cards...it is so comforting to know that our little miracles have so much love and so many prayers with them while they are growing strong in the NICU. We love and thank you all.
